0-2 Years - The Squirrels

Children aged between 0 and 2 years will join the squirrel room where we start teaching the children the foundations, the things that will encourage them to learn and grow. The room is designed to provide a “home from home” environment to enhance that transition from home to nursery life.
Outdoor play is a huge part of what we do at School House Nursery and that's no exception, even with the youngest of children. We regularly enjoy some lovely village walks, and our squirrels have their own part of
the nursery garden, overlooking the paddock and Bilbo the nursery pony.
We also help children stimulate their senses by playing with things like paint, water, jelly, and sand.As well as this we also encourage the development of key skills such as vocabulary, movement and show children how to feed themselves independently.
It's also important to build up positive relationships from a small age and that's exactly what our key workers who work with each group do. Interaction with the older children also helps with this work.
