Qualifying for Funding

School House Nursery is part of the funded places for 2 year olds. In order to qualify for 2FP you must be in receipt of one or more of the following benefits

•    Income Support
•    Income based job seekers allowance
•    Income related Employment and Support Allowance
•    Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
•    The Guaranteed Element of State Pension Credit

If you meet these criteria your child is entitled to 15 hours free childcare per week during school term time.

School House Nursery offers the preschool funding for 3 & 4 year olds.

NB School House Nursery is closed on all Bank Holidays and for 1 week at Christmas.

Your Holiday Entitlement is 3 weeks at no charge, one week which must be taken in the Christmas closure.

Any absence other than your annual holiday entitlement will be charged at full fee.


If your child is born between:

They are eligible for a free place from:

1 April and 31 August

1 September following their third birthday or the beginning of the autumn* school term

1 September and 31 December

1 January following their third birthday or the beginning of the spring* school term

1 January and 31 March

 1 April following their third birthday or the beginning of the summer* school term


These 15 hours must be taken over a minimum of 3 days. At School House Nursery, each session is 5 hours: 8am-1pm or 1pm-6pm.  You can have a mixture of morning or afternoon sessions. If you require a full day,  payment is required for the session that is not covered by the funding.

You also have the option of splitting the funding between two settings.

The funding is provided for term time only and does not cover school holidays. Even though School House Nursery is not a school, this rule still applies. If you wish to send your child during the school holidays, then you will be responsible for payment.
